the goal
- Our client, a well known financial advisor, wanted to include a social project as part of an incentive trip in Morocco.
-
They chose a small Berber village south of Marrakech where the inhabitants were completely cut off from the outside world during the annual flooding season. They could not go to work and the children could not attend secondary school.
Due to the absence of a pre-school in the village, the children only spoke the local Berber language. To attend a normal school on a regular basis, how ever, they have to be proficient in Arabic. - The 41 participants wanted to help out the community during a two-day project.

- Implementation
TEAM SEEFRIED GROUP were in charge of the research, planning and on spot implementation of the Helpcentives trip. After the project was completed, our partners Assafou Association took over the expansion and financial support of the pre-school, as well as providing provisions for teachers.
-
In order to provide medium and long-term education for the three to six year olds in the village, a pre-school should be built and appropriately equipped and the students should be provided with the necessary learning materials.
A stable bridge should also be built, which connects the village with the rest of the valley during flooding season. - The Helpcentives participants divided themselves into four working groups. Group 1 was responsible for exterior and interior work (façade, floors, washroom, windows and doors), the second group took care of the design of the classroom, the third group was in charge of the garden and the construction of the playground and finally the fourth group built the bridge.

the result
- In just two days, the participants were able to finish the pre-school and hand it over to the village and head of school. Finally, the children of the village had a pre-school and would now be well prepared for primary school. The bridge, which made connection to the outside world, was also finished in these two days and could be officially inaugurated.
- As with all Helpcentives, the sustainability of the social project was the first priority: We became partners with the Assafou Association for this exact purpose, to be able to continue the project even after it was over. After the completion of the pre-school and the bridge, the main focus lay on providing continuous financial resources for the maintenance of the pre-school and financial support for the teaching staff.
- Our client has also benefited hugely from this commitment: The participants of the Helpcentive were able to have unforgettable (team) experiences and went back home with the feeling that they had made a sustainable and important contribution to the local people of Morocco.
