the goal
- Within the framework of a six-day incentive trip, our client, a renowned financial advisor, wanted to actively engage in a two-day social project – in addition to the classic cultural and event modules of the incentive program. CRS incentive programs are a new and innovative way to provide valued recognition of the participants.
- Despite tourism in the nearby Kruger National Park, the region of the Helpcentive trip is characterized by poverty, poor infrastructure, high HIV infection and unemployment rate. To help in this region was a heartfelt wish of our client.

the content
- Idea
- With the construction of two new buildings, the day care centre got a kitchen as well as a storage room (previously they cooked outside on an open fire) and a house with sanitary facilities so that the children’s physical and hygienic wellbeing could be ensured.
- Previously, a well had to be drilled as there was no water supply in the village. With the establishment of a vegetable garden, the centre’s own supply of fresh vegetables would be made possible.
- Implementation
- After a short briefing, the 40 participants were split up into various project teams and started working immediately. As with all Helcentives, the extensive work had to be completed in only two days.
- The construction teams formed by the participants – supported by local construction workers – took care of the completion of the two houses that had already been 90 per cent built. Water pipes and electrical cables were laid.
- Completion of the two new buildings: a kitchen was installed in one of the houses and shelves were built for a storage room. In addition, electric cables were installed in order to enable the use of electrical equipment in the future. Finally, the house was equipped with the necessary furniture and equipment. Another team installed the sanitary facilities, including a fresh water supply and contaminated water collection in the second house.
- Further project teams repaired the decaying fence to protect the buildings from theft, built a small playground for the children and set up a vegetable garden. A creative team took care of the painting of the buildings.

the result
- Through the financial and energetic support of our client, the day care centre has been transformed from a provisional facility into a showcase project. The procurement of clean water has made a great difference for the whole village. The kitchen provides a hygienic area for food preparation. The physical hygiene of the children was also taken care of. Finally, the vegetable garden provides everyone with fresh produce.
- Of course our client has also benefitted: the employees had a life changing experience and went home happy with the thought of having made a sustainable and essential contribution to the local community.
